The DIHR was originally established as the Danish Centre for Human Rights by a parliamentary decision on 5 May 1987. On the 10th anniversary of the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights (UNGPs), the Danish Institute for Human Rights (DIHR) has developed a snapshot of progress in four of the Nordic countries, Norway, Finland, Denmark and Sweden, in establishing a ‘smart mix’ of measures to foster business in their jurisdictions to respect human rights within their global value chains.
